  • 1.5 cups warm water Ensure it's not too hot to avoid killing the yeast.
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil Provides moisture to the bread.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast; let it sit until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour and salt.
  3. Add the yeast mixture and oil to the flour mixture; stir until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 10 minutes, until smooth.
Rising
  1. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled, about 1 hour.
  2. Punch down the dough, shape it into a loaf, and place it in a greased loaf pan.
  3. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
Baking
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
  3. Cool before slicing.

Notes

Store the bread wrapped in plastic wrap or aluminum foil at room temperature for up to 3 days. For longer storage, freeze the bread, slicing it before freezing for easy access. Optionally, add herbs or spices during kneading for additional flavor.
