  • 3 cups mixed greens Any variety of mixed greens works.
  • 1 medium apple, diced Use Granny Smith or Fuji for best flavor.
  • 1 cup cranberries (fresh or dried) Fresh cranberries are preferable for a tart flavor.
  • 1/2 cup pecans, chopped Optional: can toast for extra flavor.
  • 1/4 cup feta cheese (optional) Can be replaced with goat cheese or omitted.
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinaigrette Adjust according to taste.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Season according to personal preference.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Wash the mixed greens gently under cold water and pat them dry.
  2. Dice the apple into bite-sized pieces, ensuring to remove the core.
  3. If using fresh cranberries, rinse them off.
Toasting the Pecans (Optional)
  1. In a small skillet, toast the chopped pecans over medium heat for about 3-5 minutes, stirring frequently, until they become fragrant.
Mixing the Salad
  1. In a large bowl, combine the mixed greens, diced apples, cranberries, and toasted pecans.
  2. If using feta cheese, sprinkle it on top.
Dressing the Salad
  1. Drizzle the balsamic vinaigrette over the salad.
  2. Season with salt and freshly cracked black pepper according to taste.
Serving
  1. Using salad tongs, gently toss all the ingredients together until evenly coated with the dressing.
  2. Transfer the salad to a serving bowl or plate and enjoy immediately.

Notes

For nut allergies, consider substituting with sunflower seeds or pumpkin seeds. Assemble ingredients right before serving to maintain crispness.
