Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 cups diced apples Make sure they’re fresh for that perfect bite.
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk Consider almond milk or oat milk for a dairy-free option.
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter Coconut oil can replace butter for a non-dairy version.
For the Glaze
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure even baking.
  2. Dice your fresh apples to yield about 2 cups; a mix of tart and sweet apples is recommended for depth of flavor.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, beat the egg and mix in the milk and melted butter.
  5. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined; be careful not to overmix.
  6. Gently fold in the diced apples until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
Baking
  1. Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop the batter onto a lined baking sheet, leaving space between each fritter.
  2. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden.
Glazing and Serving
  1. In a small bowl, mix the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  2. Once the fritters are done, let them cool for a few minutes before drizzling with glaze.
  3. Enjoy your homemade Baked Apple Fritters fresh, or save a few for later.
