Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup rice (Jasmine or Basmati)
  • 200 g beef (thinly sliced, ensure it’s halal)
  • 1 piece bell pepper (any color, sliced)
  • 1 piece onion (sliced)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (halal-certified)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • to taste green onions (for garnish)

Method

Cooking Instructions
  1. Rinse 1 cup of rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Cook it according to package instructions, or use a rice cooker for ease (about 15-20 minutes).
  2. While the rice is cooking, heat a tablespoon of sesame oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned (about 3-5 minutes).
  3. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers to the skillet. Stir well and cook for another 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are slightly tender but still crisp.
  4. Pour in 2 tablespoons of soy sauce and stir well to combine all the flavors. Cook for an additional minute to let the sauce thicken slightly.
  5. Fluff the rice and add it directly into the skillet with the beef and vegetables. Mix everything together thoroughly.
  6. Garnish with freshly chopped green onions and serve immediately. Enjoy warm!

Notes

Consider substituting beef with sliced chicken or tofu for a lighter option. Don't overcook your vegetables; they should be tender yet vibrant and crunchy.
