Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium saucepan, combine the butterscotch chips, brown sugar, and butter over medium heat. Stir constantly until everything is melted and well combined.
- Remove the saucepan from heat, then add the graham cracker crumbs, sweetened condensed milk, and vanilla extract. Mix until you have a thick batter.
- Grease or line a 9×13 inch baking dish with parchment paper.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared dish and spread it evenly with a spatula.
- If desired, sprinkle chopped nuts on top and gently press them into the batter.
- Bake for about 25 minutes, or until the edges begin to pull away from the sides of the pan. The center should be set but still soft.
- Allow to cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
Notes
Store remaining bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or refrigerate for longer freshness. Freeze for up to three months, reheating in the microwave for 10-15 seconds when desired.
