  • 12 ounces linguine Cook according to package instructions
For the shrimp
  • 1 pound fresh shrimp Choose large, fresh shrimp for best flavor
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning Adjust based on spice preference
For the sauce
  • 4 tablespoons butter Melt in a skillet
  • 3 cloves garlic Minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth For flavoring the sauce
  • 1 cup heavy cream Can be substituted for a lower-fat alternative
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice Adds brightness
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley Chopped, for garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Begin by boiling water and cooking the linguine according to the package instructions. Once cooked, drain it and set aside.
  2. In a bowl, toss the shrimp with Cajun seasoning to ensure they are well-coated with flavor.
Cooking
  1. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  2. Add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and opaque.
  3. Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream. Stir everything together and bring to a simmer for a few minutes.
Combining
  1. Add the drained linguine to the skillet along with lemon juice and chopped parsley. Toss until well combined and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  2. Serve warm, garnished with additional fresh parsley or a sprinkle of Cajun seasoning if desired.

Notes

If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container for up to 2 days. Reheat gently to avoid overcooking the shrimp. For additions, veggies like bell peppers or spinach can enhance nutrition and color.
