  • 3 pieces ripe bananas Use very ripe bananas for the best flavor and sweetness.
  • 1/4 cup melted butter Provides richness.
  • 1 cup sugar Adds sweetness.
  • 1 piece egg Acts as a binder.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Enhances flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda Helps the bread rise.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Provides flavor.
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour Main structure of the bread.
Cinnamon Swirl Mixture
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon For flavoring.
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar Creates the swirl and adds sweetness.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth. Stir in the melted butter.
  3. Mix in the sugar, egg, and vanilla extract.
  4. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and mix in.
  5. Add the flour and mix until just combined.
Cinnamon Swirling
  1. In a small bowl, mix the cinnamon and brown sugar together.
  2. Pour half of the banana bread batter into the prepared pan, sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture over it, then pour the remaining batter on top.
  3. Swirl the batter using a knife to create a cinnamon swirl.
  4. Sprinkle the remaining cinnamon sugar on top.
Baking
  1. Bake for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  2. Let it cool before slicing and serving.

Notes

To store, keep in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months. Let cool completely before wrapping. You can add nuts or chocolate chips for extra texture.
