  • 3 medium ripe bananas Very ripe bananas work best for sweetness.
  • 1/3 cup melted butter Make sure it's cooled slightly.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda Can substitute with baking powder (3 times the amount).
  • pinch salt Enhances flavor.
  • 3/4 cup sugar Adjust based on sweetness preference.
  • 1 large egg, beaten Binds the ingredients.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Adds warm flavor.
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour Provides structure to the bread.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, mix the melted butter with the mashed bananas.
  3. Stir in the baking soda and a pinch of salt.
  4. Add sugar, the beaten egg, and vanilla extract, and mix well.
  5. Finally, stir in the all-purpose flour until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  6. Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan.
  7. Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the bread to cool before serving.

Notes

Can be served warm or at room temperature. Great with butter or cream cheese. Store in plastic wrap or aluminum foil for up to 3 days at room temperature or in the refrigerator for a week. For longer storage, freeze tightly wrapped for up to 3 months.
