Ingredients

Dry Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Topping
  • Colorful sprinkles for topping

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the milk, vegetable oil, egg, and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the donut pan, filling each mold about 2/3 full.
Baking
  1. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  2. Allow the donuts to cool before removing them from the pan.
  3. Once cooled, dip the tops of the donuts in melted chocolate and sprinkle with colorful sprinkles.

Notes

Make sure to not overmix the batter; mixing until just combined results in fluffy donuts. Feel free to experiment with different types of sprinkles or toppings. If you want an extra chocolatey treat, try adding chocolate chips to the batter. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for longer storage.
