Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Grease a baking dish with butter.
Layering
- Layer half of the potato slices in the dish and sprinkle half of the minced garlic, basil, salt, and pepper over the potatoes.
- Add half of the cheese on top.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining potato slices, garlic, basil, salt, and pepper, finishing with the remaining cheese.
- Pour the heavy cream over the layered potatoes.
Baking
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Let it cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Serve hot from the oven. For storage, let cool completely and store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave.
