Ingredients

For the marinade
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce Use a low-sodium option for a lighter flavor.
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • to taste Salt and pepper
For the chicken
  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts

Method

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, olive oil, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Set aside a small amount for glazing later.
  2. Place the chicken breasts in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish, then pour the marinade over the chicken. Seal or cover and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes, or up to 2 hours for a deeper flavor.
Cooking
  1. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade (discarding the used marinade) and add the chicken breasts to the skillet.
  2. Cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side, until cooked through and nicely golden.
  3. In the last minute of cooking, brush the chicken with the reserved marinade to elevate the flavor even further.
Serving
  1. Once cooked, garnish with your choice of toppings and serve with rice or a fresh green salad.

Notes

For dietary restrictions, consider using coconut aminos instead of soy sauce for a soy-free alternative. Keep an eye on cooking times as they may vary based on chicken thickness. Use a meat thermometer; chicken is perfectly cooked at an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C). To store leftovers, place in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
