Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound Italian sausage
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese For topping
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese For topping
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1/2 cup diced green bell pepper
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes, drained
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1 package (1 lb) mini baguettes or cocktail rolls For serving

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and Italian sausage over medium heat until fully cooked; drain excess fat.
  3. Add in the onions, green bell peppers, tomatoes, cream cheese, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until combined and the cream cheese has melted.
Assembly
  1. Slice the mini baguettes or rolls in half and place them on a baking sheet.
  2. Spoon the meat mixture onto each half of the bread.
  3. Sprinkle cheddar and mozzarella cheese on top.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serving
  1. Serve warm as party bites.

Notes

These bites are best served warm right out of the oven. Pair them with dipping sauces like ranch or marinara for added flavor. If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
