Preparation
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, drained diced green chiles, shredded cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
- Divide the mixture into equal portions (about 4-6 patties). Shape each portion into a patty, making a slight indentation in the center.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat or a skillet over medium heat.
Cooking
- Cook the patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until cooked to your desired doneness. Add extra cheese on top during the last minute of cooking.
- Toast the burger buns lightly on the grill if desired.
- Assemble the burgers by placing the patties on the bottom half of each bun. Add your favorite toppings.
Serving
- Serve the Juicy Green Chile Cheeseburgers with your favorite sides, such as fries or a fresh salad.
Notes
For a lighter option, substitute ground turkey or chicken for beef. Allow patties to rest after cooking to keep them juicy. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze uncooked patties for up to 3 months.
