Ingredients

For the Cake
  • 1 box honeybun cake mix You can use boxed cake mix available at most grocery stores.
  • 3 large eggs Make sure they are at room temperature for better mixing.
  • 1 cup sour cream Can substitute with low-fat sour cream for a lighter version.
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil Can be substituted for melted butter for richer flavor.
  • 1/2 cup water
For the Topping
  • 1 package Oreo cookies, crushed Crush Oreos into small pieces before adding.
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon Adds a warm, inviting flavor to the cake.
For the Glaze
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup powdered sugar Sifted for a smoother glaze.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Use pure vanilla for best flavor.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the honeybun cake mix, eggs, sour cream, vegetable oil, and water. Mix until smooth and well combined.
  3. Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish or pan to prevent sticking.
  4. Pour half of the batter into the greased pan and spread it evenly.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix the crushed Oreos and ground cinnamon together. Sprinkle this mixture over the batter in the pan.
  6. Pour the remaining batter on top of the Oreo layer, spreading it out gently for an even distribution.
Baking
  1. Place the pan into your preheated oven and bake for about 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Finishing
  1. While your cake bakes, mix the melted butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract in a bowl until smooth.
  2. Once the cake is done, remove it from the oven, and while it’s still warm, pour the glaze over the top, allowing it to soak in.
  3. Let it cool in the pan for at least 15 minutes before slicing into it.
  4. Enjoy with family or at any gathering!
