Ingredients
  

Fruity Filling
  • 4 cups sliced peaches (fresh or canned) If using canned peaches, drain well.
  • 1/2 cup sugar For mixing with peaches.
Batter Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar Remaining sugar for batter.
  • 2 tsp baking powder Can add an extra tablespoon for a cake-like texture.
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract Adds flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine sliced peaches with 1/2 cup of sugar and set aside.
  3. In another bowl, mix together flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and stir until everything is well combined.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into a greased baking dish.
  2. Spoon the peach mixture on top of the batter.
  3. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
Serving
  1. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Best served warm. Can be paired with vanilla ice cream or drizzled with fresh cream for an enhanced experience. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 3-4 days.
