  • 4 cups fresh watermelon juice Best if made with fresh watermelon.
  • 1 cup sparkling water Add just before serving to retain fizz.
  • 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves Use freshly crushed for maximum flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice Freshly squeezed recommended.
  • to taste none ice cubes For serving.
  • for garnish none mint sprigs For serving decoration.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Cut a ripe watermelon in half and scoop out the flesh.
  2. Blend the watermelon flesh until smooth using a blender.
  3. Strain the juice through a fine mesh sieve to remove any pulp, keeping it as smooth as possible.
Mixing the Punch
  1. In a large pitcher, combine the fresh watermelon juice and lime juice. Stir well to integrate flavors.
  2. Gently crush the mint leaves in your palm to release their essential oils, then add them to the watermelon mixture.
Final Touch
  1. Just before serving, pour in the sparkling water to retain the fizz. Stir carefully to avoid flattening the bubbles.
  2. Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the punch over. Garnish with mint sprigs for a pop of color.

Notes

Best served fresh, but leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 24 hours. Add sparkling water right before serving for optimal fizz.
