Ingredients
  

For the Crab Bake
  • 2 cups sushi rice
  • 1 pound cooked crab meat
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon wasabi paste (optional) For an extra kick
  • 1/2 cup shredded nori
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • to taste Soy sauce for serving

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. Cook the rice according to your rice cooker or package instructions. Once cooked, set aside and let it cool.
Mixing
  1. In a large bowl, combine the cooled sushi rice, crab meat, mayonnaise, cream cheese, green onions, soy sauce, and sesame oil.
  2. If you’re feeling adventurous, add wasabi paste for an extra kick.
Baking
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish.
  2. Spread the rice-crab mixture evenly in the bottom of the dish, pressing it down gently.
  3. Sprinkle shredded nori over the mixture, followed by shredded mozzarella cheese.
  4. Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
Serving
  1. Once baked, let it cool for a few minutes. Serve warm with additional soy sauce for dipping.

Notes

Feel free to switch out the crab meat for cooked shrimp or imitation crab for a more budget-friendly alternative. Let the rice cool before mixing to prevent a mushy texture. Use sushi rice for the best results.
