Preparation
- Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
- Cook the rice according to your rice cooker or package instructions. Once cooked, set aside and let it cool.
Mixing
- In a large bowl, combine the cooled sushi rice, crab meat, mayonnaise, cream cheese, green onions, soy sauce, and sesame oil.
- If you’re feeling adventurous, add wasabi paste for an extra kick.
Baking
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish.
- Spread the rice-crab mixture evenly in the bottom of the dish, pressing it down gently.
- Sprinkle shredded nori over the mixture, followed by shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
Serving
- Once baked, let it cool for a few minutes. Serve warm with additional soy sauce for dipping.
Notes
Feel free to switch out the crab meat for cooked shrimp or imitation crab for a more budget-friendly alternative. Let the rice cool before mixing to prevent a mushy texture. Use sushi rice for the best results.
