Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, ground cinnamon, and granulated sugar. Stir well.
- In another large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each, then mix in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, mixing until just incorporated.
- In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and ground cinnamon.
Assembly
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared cake pan, sprinkle half of the brown sugar mixture on top.
- Pour the remaining batter on top and then sprinkle the rest of the brown sugar mixture.
- Use a butter knife to swirl the batter gently in a figure-eight motion.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- Slice, serve, and enjoy!
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. For longer storage, refrigerate for up to a week or freeze wrapped slices for up to 3 months. Reheat in the microwave or oven.
