Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 slices slices of bread (your choice: sourdough, whole grain, or white)
  • 2 tablespoons garlic butter (homemade or store-bought) Homemade can be made by mixing softened butter with minced garlic.
  • 4 slices slices of cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your favorite cheese) Feel free to experiment with different types of cheese.
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Method

Preparation
  1. Spread the garlic butter evenly on one side of each slice of bread.
  2. If you’re feeling adventurous, make your own garlic butter by mixing softened butter with finely minced garlic and a pinch of salt.
Assembling and Cooking
  1. Place two slices of bread buttered side down in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Lay two slices of cheese on top of the bread.
  3. Top with the remaining slices of bread, buttered side up.
  4. Cook for about 3-4 minutes, or until the bottom is golden brown and crisp.
  5. Carefully flip the sandwich over and continue to cook for another 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted and the other side is crispy.
Serving
  1. Remove from the skillet, season with a pinch of salt and pepper, and garnish with freshly chopped parsley if you like.
  2. Slice it in half to reveal that ooey-gooey cheesy goodness!

Notes

Storing and Reheating Tips: If you have leftovers, refrigerate the sandwiches in an airtight container for up to 2 days. Reheat on a skillet over low heat or in an oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes to restore crispiness. Keep an eye on the heat while cooking to avoid burning the bread before the cheese melts.
