For the cake
  • 1 box vanilla cake mix
  • 1 can strawberry pie filling
  • 1 package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup whipped topping For serving

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan with cooking spray or a touch of oil.
  3. In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with the powdered sugar and vanilla extract until creamy and smooth.
Assembling the cake
  1. Spread the strawberry pie filling at the bottom of the greased pan.
  2. Pour the cake mix evenly over the strawberry filling without mixing.
  3. Dollop the cream cheese mixture over the cake mix layer and drizzle the melted butter on top.
Baking and Serving
  1. Bake for about 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden and a toothpick comes out clean from the center.
  2. Allow it to cool for a few minutes before serving.
  3. Top each serving with a generous scoop of whipped topping.

Notes

Store in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days; freeze portions in an airtight container for up to 2 months. Reheat individual servings in the microwave for 15-20 seconds.
